Nunnelee: D.C. has to cut spending
Cut spending, reduce taxes and simplify the tax code were the focus of a town hall meeting in Houston with U.S. Rep. Alan Nunnelee on Tuesday night.
Nunnelee spoke at the Chickasaw County Courthouse and said he felt government in Washington was dysfunctional. Failure by Congress’ debt-cutting supercommittee to recommend $1.2 trillion in savings by a deadline last week is being pointed to as an indication of that problem.
That failure to reach a budget agreement has panicked markets and Nunnelee presented his solution.
