A Look At Senate Races (Part II)

Senate District 48, which extends from Pass Christian to the Gulfport airport, features incumbent Democrat Deborah Dawkins and her challenger, Republican Ashley Skellie. This is a rematch from 2007 when Dawkins won 53-47. I touched on this race, and Dakins in particular, in an earlier post where we looked at just how liberal Dawkins is. Will this lead to her defeat? We shall see. So far, she hasn’t done a whole lot in the way of fundraising, collecting $6,200 this year- $5,000 of which is from herself. Skellie, on other hand, has raised over $35,000 with $24,000 in the bank.
