Hattiesburg American – 2 incumbent reps challenged

By: Magnolia Tribune - October 10, 2011

2 incumbent reps challenged

Two longtime incumbents will attempt to swat away a pair of challengers running their first campaigns in the elections for Mississippi House of Representatives Districts 93 and 106.

In District 93, Republican Timmy Ladner faces Democrat incumbent Dirk Dedeaux who has represented the district since 1996.

District 93 encompasses large sections of Hancock and Stone counties, as well as portions of Harrison, Forrest and Lamar counties.

Four years ago, Dedeaux easily handled Republican challenger John Thomas Cripps, capturing 75 percent of the vote.

Ladner, a Realtor and business owner who defeated challenger Kent Alexander in the primary, says there’s a different climate in 2011.
