Independent probe sought in Miss. patrol exams
JACKSON, Miss. — A group of state troopers is calling for an independent investigation into promotions exams given by the Mississippi Highway Safety Patrol.
Gov. Haley Barbour announced Aug. 29 that the Department of Public Safety was conducting its own internal investigation after authorities were told about possible impropriety in testing procedures.
The Mississippi Central Troopers’ Coalition plans to hold a news conference Wednesday at the state NAACP headquarters in Jackson to call for the independent probe.
