Would you pay $200,000 to be considered for a job that pays $50,000 a year?
How about $2.3 million for a $60,000-per-year salary job?
It may sound crazy, but that’s what politicians across Mississippi are doing this year.
Sure, there are perks – and power – that come with being elected to statewide office or to the Legislature.
But while candidates talk about cutting back on state spending, they’ve shown they are more than willing to fork over big bucks to get elected, and their supporters are more than willing to help them out.
