DESOTO COUNTY — The Aug. 2 primary is Tuesday for contested state and county races, and some races, like the race for Mississippi lieutenant governor, could be decided.
There are no Democratic candidates or independent candidates running for lieutenant governor. Tracella Lou O’Hara Hill of Hattiesburg is the Reform Party candidate.
Sen. Billy Hewes, R-Gulfport and State Treasurer Tate Reeves, both Republicans, are on Tuesday’s ballot along with a host of candidates for state and local offices.
