Bobby Harrison asserts that Court delay on redistricting is bad for Republicans

By: Magnolia Tribune - May 16, 2011

Judges’ delay not good for GOP, Barbour

The longer the three-judge federal panel takes to rule on the Mississippi legislative redistricting lawsuit the more likely it becomes that the state Republican Party and Gov. Haley Barbour will not prevail.
Barbour and the state Party are advocating that the judges select an expert to draw districts. But time is running out to draw new districts. The deadline to qualify to run for a legislative seat is June 1 and the party primary elections are slated for early August. Of course, the judges could push those dates back.
