Smith: ‘Rogue’ Republicans Targeting Me
Rep. Jeff Smith, a Democrat who has said he is running for Speaker as an independent, recently talked with The Columbus Packet about the 2011 elections, where he will be running for a sixth term in the legislature as well as making a second bid to become Speaker of the House.
Smith, who is currently unchallenged for re-election this November, said he has heard that a group of Republicans are looking for a candidate to challenge the incumbent (who is among the most conservative Democrats left in the House).
