Janus heads to D.C. for Palazzo staff job
D’IBERVILLE — Michael Janus goes to Washington on Monday to take over as Chief of Staff for U.S. Rep. Steven Palazzo. He plans to return, though, to his job as D’Iberville city manager.
“I’ll be home within 90 days,” he said. “I love this little city. I’m not leaving them.”
At a special meeting Wednesday, the D’Iberville Council granted Janus up to 90 days of unpaid leave. Janus said he won’t collect health benefits or retirement pay while he’s away from his job.
