Quentin Whitwell had been campaigning for this position months before the qualifying deadline — meetings, fundraisers, even advertising. On the last day Patricia Ice jumped into the race. Yesterday was the election and the outcome was ugly: Whitwell won by a margin of 4,179 to 501. You can’t do this stuff at the last minute.
