Caldwell says he won’t rerun for Transportation
ohn Caldwell says he won’t make a third run at the state Transportation Commission after falling short in a bid for the Northern District seat in a special runoff election Tuesday.
Caldwell of Nesbit lost to Mike Tagert of Starkville in the election to fill a vacancy created by the death of Bill Minor of Holly Springs.
Tagert will fill about a year of Minor’s term before the seat becomes open again for a full term, but Caldwell — who lost to Minor in 2007 — says he’s finished.
