Barbour addresses energy policy
HATTIESBURG, MS. (WDAM) – On Tuesday, sounding much like a national candidate for office, Governor Haley Barbour announced that a solar panel manufacturing company would be locating a facility in Hattiesburg.
During the Governor’s comments before a packed crowd at the Lake Terrace Convention Center, he also addressed national energy policy and what he views as poor moves by the Obama administration.
Barbour said the nation’s high gas prices were related to the federal government’s long term ban on new offshore drilling in parts of the country following the oil spill last spring.
The Governor argued for an American energy strategy that requires more production from this country.
