Minor asstistant seeks Transportation Commission seat

Joey Hood has joined the field of candidates seeking the state Transportation Commission seat left vacant by the death of Bill Minor.

Hood, a native of the Kirkville community in Itawamba County, said in a statement Wednesday he is seeking the seat to continue projects Minor had begun and wanted to see completed.

Projects cited include the continued transformation of U.S. 78 to Interstate 22, continued construction on Miss., Miss. 25, Miss. 9, Miss. 30, U.S. 45 and U.S. 278, as well as continuing work on Interstate 269.
