No candidate on election night suffered a more surprising upset than the one that hit McElroy on Saturday – or responded to it with a more heartfelt concession speech.
After 3 1/2 minutes of mild interrogation and explanation, an Alabama official was trying to hustle McElroy away from any more questions after LSU 24, Alabama 21, and a quick getaway would’ve been understandable.
