But at Red State, the conservative blog run by Erick Erickson, he put Wicker on a list of top Tea Party targets for the next election cycle. In fact he said “Wicker…makes an exciting prospect for the tea party movement.”
I guess that is based on his dislike for some of Wicker’s votes particularly related to earmarks combined with the strong Republican tilt of the state (as opposed to say, Delaware). Over the past year, Erickson regularly supported- and urged followers on his widely read blog to back- Republican candidates who were generally anti-establishment in some way. As we saw on Tuesday, the Tea Party had some hits and misses.
