LSU defense built to stop Alabama

This year’s LSU defense is a better unit, though, so thankfully it looked like McElroy started hitting his midseason stride early in the second half against Tennessee, and he’s going to have to keep that momentum going if Alabama is going to return from Baton Rouge with a victory.

The biggest problem is the fact that LSU’s defense is uniquely suited to stopping our offense. With solid interior line play from the likes of Drake Nevis, the offensive line will have to do a much better job of protecting McElroy. The Tide has given up 22 sacks so far this season, 11th worst in the conference, and even though not all of those are on the offensive line, it’s still an issue that needs to be corrected quickly.
