Miles wakes up ‘Let ‘er rip’ echo for Bama
The first famous “rip” comment was made by Miles to ABC sideline reporter Lynn Swann on Nov. 8, 2003, as Miles’ No. 15 ranked Cowboys (7-1) were about to play No. 1 Oklahoma (8-0) in Norman, Okla., on ABC.
Swann asked Miles if he tries to control the strong emotion in such a game or go with it.
“It has to be controlled at points, but most of the time, ‘Let ‘er rip,'” Miles said.
Miles’ Cowboys then went out and got beat 52-9.
