Special Election To Fill Minor’s Seat TBA
The passing of Northern District Transportation Commissioner Bill Minor created an immediate opening on the three member elected panel. Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann sent out a press release announcing his plans for moving forward to fill the vacancy.
According to Hosemann’s office, the governor has 15 days to set the date for a special election; which is to occur within 60 days from the time of the proclamation. Hosemann has asked the governor to set the qualifying deadline a minimum of 45 days prior to the special election.
