Notre Dame football: Growing pains hit Irish recruiting

SOUTH BEND – The growing pains that have defined Brian Kelly’s first season as Notre Dame’s head football coach have started to bleed into recruiting.
On Sunday, elite defensive end recruit Aaron Lynch, who earlier waffled on his verbal commitment to the Irish, not only decommitted to shop around a little more, but he reportedly eliminated Notre Dame all in one verbal slap.

Neither Lynch, nor his mother, Alice, returned phone calls from the Tribune to confirm or deny, but the reports of his exodus from the class of 2011 were as consistent as they were widespread.
