When Notre Dame lost to Navy last year, it was the beginning of the end for Charlie Weis. The Irish dropped their final three games after that 23-21 loss at home to finish 6-6, and Weis was fired.
The situation is nowhere near as drastic for Brian Kelly this season. But Notre Dame’s 35-17 loss to Navy on Saturday at the New Meadowlands added more uncertainty to a transition season that never has had a definitive destination.
