Why does Gene Taylor want to debate without an audience?

Why does Gene Taylor want to debate without an audience?

The debate will air live from 6 to 7 p.m. on WKFK Digital TV-7 and on News Radio 104.9, and will be streamed live on their websites.

The two have sparred over the format a debate would take, and previously turned down offers from USM, the Sun Herald and WLOX-TV to debate. Palazzo’s campaign wanted to debate before an audience in an auditorium setting. Taylor wanted a closed, televised debate without a large audience.

The debate they agreed to will be moderated by talk-show personality Kipp Gregory in a Jackson County studio, without an audience.

Tammy Moore with WKFK said arranging the debate took some doing.

As of early Tuesday, each campaign was unsure whether a final agreement had been reached.

The debate will also be streamed live on wkfk.com and newsradio1049fm.com. Residents can submit questions at either website or by e-mail to debate@wkfk.com.
