Football Recruiting Has Evolved With Growth Of The Internet
Technology has changed college football recruiting, making it simpler for information to spread. High school coaches once limited by time and money can now reach college coaches at the click of a mouse. Players likely to be overlooked by playing at a small school or against weak competition can sign up for a variety of combines publicized by online recruiting services. And college coaches, once able to hide their top targets, have learned there are no longer secrets in recruiting.
“It’s very easy to find video on guys today online,” said Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher, who offered Tye a scholarship he later accepted. “We were very impressed with [the film] and very fortunate to be able to go up there and get him.”
