Paying College Players Just Plain Stupid
The thing is, it’s a subject that will stay in bright lights of controversy for a while after revelations in the latest Sports Illustrated magazine. Former sports agent Josh Luchs said in an article that he showered more than 30 players with everything from thousands of dollars to free meals to concert tickets. Much of his story was confirmed through physical evidence and by several of those mentioned.
There was even this from former USC wide receiver R. Jay Soward, who admitted to accepting Luchs’ gifts: “I would do it again. I have four sons, and if somebody offered my son money in college and it meant he didn’t have to be hungry, I would tell him to take it.”
