The prof asked the kid what he planned to do for a living. The kid said he was going to be a lawyer, specializing in entertainment law. The prof asked where he planned to live. “L.A.,” the kid answered.
“Would you put a photo or drawing of Colonel Rebel up in your den in California?” the prof asked.
“No,” the kid answered.
“Why not?”
“People out there wouldn’t understand. They’d think I was a …. a …”
“Go ahead and say it.”
“A racist,” the kid answered.
The professor didn’t have to say anything else. The kid got it.
