Rebs earn ‘well done’ from Nutt
It wasn’t all rosy for the Rebels (2-2, 0-1 SEC), who host Kentucky (3-1, 0-1) Saturday.
Fresno State shredded the Ole Miss secondary for 390 yards on 32 of 43 passing, earned 23 first downs and scored 38 points. It was a close game for far too late into the night for UM’s taste after it staked a 31-point lead shortly after halftime.
But it was a much better taste than a week before, when Ole Miss lost by two touchdowns to winless Vanderbilt.
“We’ve got to keep getting better,” Nutt said of his team’s defense. “We look good at times and then sometimes, boy, we just don’t know where the ball is. We’ve got to get some things corrected there. What I liked last night was how hard we played.”
