Michigan’s Denard Robinson has been QB to watch since Florida prep days

The defensive lineman wasn’t budging. He stood at the 50 with his arms folded, eyes locked on the junior quarterback from Deerfield Beach (Fla.) High. But the intimidation didn’t end there.
Taped onto the front of the lineman’s helmet was a picture. It was a photograph of Denard Robinson.
This was 2007, and the Bucks were about to play Miami Northwestern — the nation’s top-ranked team — in the semifinals of the Florida Class 6A state football playoffs at the Orange Bowl.
“Denard’s warming up, and he looks at the helmet and just starts laughing at the guy, like, ‘You think that scares us?’ ” recalled Art Taylor, who coached the Bucks that season.
