Nick Saban never met Bear Bryant.
Share You would think, as a young coach, that Saban might’ve run across the legend at a clinic or a convention or a speech, but no.
Even though Saban had been an assistant for a decade by the time Bryant passed too soon in January 1983, their paths never crossed.
“I read several of his books,” Saban said, “but never had the opportunity to meet him.”
