Politico – Reaching for the Haley legacy in Miss.
Longtime Clarion-Ledger columnist Sid Salter, reporting from the scene at the Neshoba County Fair, finds a virtual group hug for Gov. Haley Barbour, who is nearing the end of his two terms.
Writes Salter:
CABIN NO. 16, NESHOBA COUNTY FAIR — After a week at the mecca of Mississippi politics, here’s what we know: Six-of-seven incumbent statewide elected officials — all Republican — like and admire Gov. Haley Barbour to the point that they will use part of their allotted 10 minutes of face time under the Founder’s Square Pavilion to praise the two-term governor.
Notably, though, Salter doesn’t think Barbour will ultimately run for president:
