Dogs, Rebs hope to duplicate 2009 sales

Historically, Ole Miss’ sales level isn’t bad. And there’s still about two months before the season opener on Sept. 4 against Jacksonville State in Oxford.

But Boone said there a few reasons why the Rebels probably won’t surpass 2009:

Expectations were at an all-time high last season, with Ole Miss consistently ranked in preseason top 10 polls. Couple that with a loaded home schedule that included games against Alabama, LSU, Tennessee and Arkansas, and Rebel fans snatched up tickets in droves.
Also, because of the national hype and marquee matchups, ticket brokers and opposing fans bought season tickets. Boone estimated those groups accounted for about 3,000 to 4,000 total tickets.
