Rebels face a youthful, yet red-hot, Red Storm

Ole Miss (38-22), the No. 2 seed in this weekend’s Charlottesville (Va.) Regional, will try to slow down St. John’s (40-18) in the opening round at 7 p.m. on Friday at Davenport Field.

Leading the Red Storm’s surprising run are two freshmen – outfielder Jeremy Baltz and pitcher Kyle Hansen. Baltz was named the Big East freshman of the year after hitting 20 homers, while Hansen, the brother of major league pitcher Craig Hansen, has an 8-1 record and 3.09 ERA.
