Tony Romo moves on in U.S. Open qualifying with late comeback
CARROLLTON — Tony Romo was late for dinner at Jason Garrett’s house Thursday night. On his way, the Dallas Cowboys quarterback stopped and made reservations for the U.S. Open sectional by taking one of seven spots in the local qualifier, getting in with a three-hole playoff at Honors Golf Club.
Romo needed a fourth-quarter comeback and overtime to move on to the sectional on June 7 at the Club at Carlton Woods in The Woodlands. He finished tied for fifth out of the 103 golfers who teed off, shooting a 2-under 69.
