Pitchers, batters, coaches go on the clock at SEC Tournament
Southeastern Conference baseball teams at the league tournament in Hoover, Ala., that starts Wednesday will notice something different: A clock mounted below the video board beyond Regions Park’s right-center field fence. And SEC fans heading that way might see something they’re not used to, either: Their hotel room before midnight.
It’s all the result of an emphasis to shorten the length of the games and the time between them for the event, which features four games in its first two days and has routinely had games last well past midnight.
