Stricklin set to take over as State’s AD

STARKVILLE — Mississippi State will introduce Scott Stricklin as its new athletic director at a 2 p.m. press conference Friday, multiple sources told The Clarion-Ledger tonight.

Stricklin replaces Greg Byrne, who started his new job as Arizona’s athletic director earlier last week.

Stricklin, 39, is a Jackson native, 1988 Jackson Prep graduate and a 1992 graduate of Mississippi State. He is married to the former Anne Howell, daughter of Basketball Hall of Fame member Bailey Howell, one of the most celebrated names in the history of the Bulldog program.
