Search for AD nears conclusion
STARKVILLE — Mississippi State appears to be in the final stages of the process that will result in the naming of a new athletic director. Few new names have emerged among insiders in the search, which started soon after Greg Byrne announced his departure on March 22. Scott Stricklin, the school’s senior associate AD for external affairs and a 1992 State graduate, continues to be mentioned. Joe Dean Jr., the AD at Birmingham-Southern who is also a State grad, appears to no longer be involved.
