Callaway star Smith commits to MSU
Callaway guard Marquavius “Deville” Smith has verbally committed to Mississippi State in men’s basketball.
Smith, a 5-foot-11 junior, was named first-team All-State and Metro Player of the Year by The Clarion-Ledger after averaging 22.4 points and leading the Chargers to a second straight state championship.
Smith said he also considered Kentucky, Baylor, Arkansas and Tennessee. He can make his choice official during the early signing period in November.
