Saban now SEC’s highest-paid coach
TUSCALOOSA – The Alabama board of trustees approved raises Thursday for five Crimson Tide assistant football coaches and agreed to a change in the payment structure of the existing seven-year deal for head coach Nick Saban.
Saban’s 2010 salary now jumps from $4.1 million to roughly $4.63 million as a result of a change to the “Contract Year Completion Benefit” clause that was added last year to his original 2007 contract. The total amount of compensation over the life of the contract was not changed.
