Physical transformations, juco transfer make DL unit of strength for Bulldogs
STARKVILLE — For 253-pound Fletcher Cox, the new kid at Mississippi State last summer out of Yazoo City High School, the conversations with coach Dan Mullen and strength coach Matt Balis were simple.
“They told me where I needed to be to get to that level, and where guys on that level weigh that much as a defensive tackle,” he said.
So here he is less than a year later, heading toward the end of his first spring practice with the Bulldogs weighing in at “296, 297” every day.
