Young tight end preparing for expanded role
Ferbia Allen got pushed around some last season.
Ole Miss’ young tight end found out the hard way that he simply wasn’t big or strong enough to handle some of the Southeastern Conference’s more physical defensive ends and linebackers.
This spring, Allen is carrying an extra 15 pounds on his 6-foot-4 frame, and he’s feeling stronger and more dominant, so much so that he’s planning to gain another 5-10 pounds before the start of the season. He might need it, as Allen is being counted on to play a big role in the Rebels’ offense.
