After scandal, tragedy, Baylor Bears claw their way back in basketball

WACO – Baylor basketball coach Scott Drew bounded onto the stage this week at the Bill Daniel Student Center. He immediately shot a dart at a television analyst who had claimed Bears fans wouldn’t follow the team on the road, even to Houston.
“Baylor Nation will be in full effect on Friday night!” Drew shouted.
Students at the pep rally roared in approval. Sic ’em!
Baylorites are relishing their advancement to tonight’s NCAA regional semifinal against Saint Mary’s at Houston’s Reliant Stadium. It’s the men’s program’s best showing in the tournament’s modern era. With the women’s team in the regional semifinals and not far removed from the 2005 national title, Baylor is among five schools nationwide that can tout dual Sweet 16 success.
