What really sold me on Byrne is the fact that Cedric Dempsey chose him. Byrne contacted Dempsey to recommend some people for the job and Dempsey wound up selling Byrne on Arizona and convincing him to explore the job.
In case you forget Dempsey is the one who hired Lute Olson, Dick Tomey and Mike Candrea among others.
