Patterson in Nutt’s doghouse once again

OXFORD — For the second time in less than a year, Ole Miss receiver Patrick Patterson has been suspended from the football team for “breaking team rules,” this time for the duration of spring practice.

Coach Houston Nutt announced the punishment on Wednesday, saying the former star recruit was just about out of chances to stay with the Rebels. He hoped this would be the final wake-up call the former Noxubee County star needs.

“It’s amazing when you take something away from someone that’s important,” Nutt said. “You hate to do it. You want him to be out there. But I think he understands.”
