Hood: No Decision Yet On Lawsuit
Attorney General Jim Hood issued a statement last night saying that he has not made a decision on the request from Haley Barbour to file a state challenge questioning the constitutionality of the healthcare reform provision mandating all Americans purchase health insurance.
In the statement, Hood said it is “premature to make a determination on the legality of this legislation until it is signed by the president.” The bill will be signed into law this morning.
He did add, however, that he would “review the law to determine if there are any viable causes of action for the state of Mississippi.”
