Tennessee coach Bruce Pearl seeks grad-rate fix before college
Sixth seed Tennessee is one of the dozen teams whose graduation rate (30%) was lower than the standard U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan believes should be used to be eligible to compete in the NCAA Division I men’s basketball tournament.
Volunteers coach Bruce Pearl apologized for that percentage Wednesday on the eve of UT’s game against San Diego State, but also called on Duncan to address the problem before the college level.
