Lane Kiffin says he received death threats

In an interview with Shelly Smith of ESPN, former Tennessee Volunteer-now USC-head coach Lane Kiffin says he received death threats from Tennessee fans after he took the job at USC. After his sudden departure Kiffin says that he was most concerned for his wife’s safety after their home address and her cell phone number were leaked out.

As for how he feels going into USC? Great, he says, ‘busy signing the best class in America’.

As for the difference between Knoxville and Los Angeles

“I think people here understand there’s a lot more going on,” Kiffin said. ”They weren’t burning couches when coach (Pete) Carroll left, and he won two national championships. I joke sometimes that imagine if we’d actually won some championships down there what they would have done.”
