Byram Residents Furious Over Water Bill Increase – David Blount trying to change the law

Right now, Jackson residents pay $2.20 a gallon. Byram residents who stay more than a mile away from the Jackson city limits pay $1.48.
Those who live within a one-mile radius pay $4.40, but that’s not all. Households that use more than 80 gallons a month have to pay an additional $26 service charge.
State Sen. David Blount said he’s trying to push a bill through the Legislature to change the law.
Under Senate Bill 2410, Byram residents would be charged about the same amount for water as people who live in Jackson, according to Blount.
