Judge Henry Lackey honored by MS College
Mississippi College in Clinton has named Judge Henry Lackey as their alumnus of the year.
Judge Lackey was drawn into the Richard Scruggs’ judicial bribery case in 2007. He was approached by New Albany attorney Timothy Balducci and offered a $40,000 bribe to rule in favor of a lawsuit handled by Dickie Scruggs.
The judge contacted the FBI instead. Scruggs, his son and several others involved in the bribery scheme were convicted and sent to prison.
Lackey said the whole things was quote, “just a shame,”adding, ” They just became enamored with the idea of power and wealth.”
