A friend sent me a copy of the latest Billy Hewes letter, asking for contributions to his campaign for Lt. Governor. It starts out as the standard Republican direct mail letter — first, taking a swipe at us liberals, and then announcing his support of “Christian values.” But it was on page two that the letter took on a little originality. Hewes wrote, “Until we have the chance to meet, please consider doing three things,” and those three things were (1) go to his website to learn more about him, (2) consider making a contribution to his campaign, and (3) pray for him and his family.
