Time for Legislature to ease into 21st century
The tagline for the movie “2010” was: “The year we make contact.” That wouldn’t be a bad slogan for the 2010 session of the Mississippi Legislature.
A decade into the 21st century, members of the Legislature are still not as savvy as they should be in keeping in contact with their constituents.
E-mail seems to be nothing more than a nuisance to some lawmakers. To see what a powerful resource it could be, they have only to look at how officials such as Gov. Haley Barbour and Lt. Gov. Phil Bryant regularly employ this technology.
