Tebow, Gators support Meyer through health scares, time off
NEW ORLEANS — Sunday’s morning practice might have been the most crucial of Urban Meyer’s career.
The routine sounds of tackling drills and whistles prompted Meyer — who announced his resignation from the Florida Gators the day before — to call Florida Athletic Director Jeremy Foley about a potential return for 2010 and beyond.
Friday’s Sugar Bowl against Cincinnati might not be Meyer’s last game with UF after all.
“He was walking off the practice field and he knew he made a mistake,” defensive line coach Dan McCarney said. “I don’t know if it’s one month, three months or six months, but he’s coming back.”
