A year later, Giants still trying to recover from Plaxico Burress’ shot heard round NFL world

It all started to fall apart for the Giants on Thanksgiving weekend last year when they received a disturbing call in the middle of the night. Plaxico Burress had shot himself in the leg. The season was eventually ruined.
They were the best team in football when Burress’ gun accidentally went off on that Friday night going into Saturday morning. The Giants were cruising at 9-1 and looked like they would not lose another game on the way to winning consecutive Super Bowls.
